Students as young as 3!
Private lessons
30 minute: $25.00 per lesson, (includes ensemble when I deem student is ready and we have enough students to form group).
15 minute (3-5 yr olds) $15.00 per Lesson, includes ensemble
Attendance Policies:
A parent is required to coach* the student during home practice, as well as participate in the lesson, and ensemble class.
Students are expected to be at all lessons, at the time they have asked me to reserve for them.
Missed lessons and tardiness on the student's part is not made up. Occasional rescheduling is allowable if it works with my and the student's family schedule. Students are allowed to swap lesson times with another student if it is mutually agreeable, and notification to the teacher is required. Families are required to complete a semester once they agree upon lesson time. The only exceptions are death in the family and chronic long term illness by student or family member.
Lesson fees are to be paid in advance either in full at the beginning of the semester, or in 4 monthly payments. Refunds are not given except in the case of long term injury (broken bones), serious chronic illness, or death in the family. Advance notice is expected for any absence. Teacher cancellations/absences are made up at the end of the semester, or a credit is issued.
Families will be given an email invoice before lessons begin in January, and August. A typical Fall and Spring semester are 18 weeks.
*I will teach you what to do, it’s really not hard!
Fiddlers Ensembles:
All students are required to participate in Fiddlers Ensemble. Typically the beginner ensemble will be shorter and meet immediately before the older more advanced ensemble. When we are preparing for a ministry event, such as nursing home visit or playing for church meeting or other outreach, we will combine the rehearsal into one group. All students should keep this time open in order to make the rehearsal successful.
Violin Sizes:
Students 5 and younger will start on a foam-a-lin to insure a solid start with posture and technique and insure that they handle the foam-a-lin as though it were a "real violin". Please inquire about the size prior to ordering.
Violin students must be measured prior to ordering violin. It is very detrimental to their development for them to be in the wrong size violin. It isn't so serious for the violin to be too small, but it is a very bad idea to have one too large. I can guide you on a suitable instrument.
